What is Coquí?
Coquí is a live map-based community alert app. It allows you to mark what's happening near you... add a spot, check what others are seeing and stay connected in real time.

Who is it for?
For anyone who wants to stay informed, care for others or simply share something important. Whether you're an organizer, a neighbor or just curious, Coquí helps you support your community.

Is Coqui only for New York or does it work elsewhere?

We are available and expanding throughout the country, reaching every city.

What can I use it for?
You can bookmark things like:

🚓 Police
or anything else.

It's your map, just make sure it's relevant, respectful and real. The pins are to create situational awareness - not to point fingers or encourage confrontation.

How do I add a point?
Just tap anywhere on the map. You will be able to:

• Confirm address

• Select pin type

• Add a note or photo (optional)
  And drop it!

• Your point will appear immediately for others nearby to see.

What are the basic rules?

• You must be within 10 miles of any point marked on the map to see it or interact with it.

• If you wish to remove a marker you have placed, you will have 1 hour to do so.

• The markers will remain visible on the map for 7 days.

• The markers will turn gray after 3 days.

When to mark a place? Confirming?

You can create up to 5 markers per day, with a limit of 2 per hour. You can confirm up to 10 locations per day, but only one every 3 hours. You must be within 5 miles to confirm.

How about alerts?
By default, you will receive an alert when you are within 3 miles of a pin-marked point.
You will not receive another alert from the same pin until at least 3 hours after the initial alert.

Can I delete or edit a point I made?
At this time, you cannot edit a point, but you can delete it and create a new one.

Is my location tracked?
We use your location to show nearby alerts and make the map useful - but we do not track you personally. When you open the map, your general location is sent to the server to find pins in your area. To protect your privacy, we reduce the accuracy so that your exact location is not known or stored. Your location is never stored or linked to your name or identity.
We also use Mapbox for maps, which may collect anonymous usage data (such as zooming or moving the map) to improve its service. You can opt out of sharing this data by tapping the ⓘ icon on the map.

Are posts anonymous?
Yes - your name is never shown on public pins or comments. But this is still a shared space. Everyone agrees to follow our Community Guidelines to maintain respect.

How do you moderate this?
Coquí puts the community first. If you see something false, harmful or off-topic, please report it by writing to support@getcoqui.com. Our team will review it and remove it if necessary. We have built in anti-harassment systems and are actively working to remove users who do not follow the rules. Keeping this space safe, respectful and authentic is our top priority.

How do I change the language of the app?
Tap the language button on the welcome screen or go to the navigation menu to switch between English and Spanish.

Something is not working - what do I do?
Contact us! You can send feedback or bug reports to support@getcoqui.com. We're a small team, but we're listening.

How do I delete my account or data?
Coquí does not use logins or personal accounts. Everything stays local on your device. To delete your data or start over, just delete and reinstall the app - a new anonymous ID will be generated.
